Interested in being a member of National Junior Honor Society?
There will be an informational meeting on Friday, September 19th during activity period in the Commons.
During the meeting, current members will describe what we do in NJHS and the application process. In order to apply for NJHS, you must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75, complete at least 10 hours of community service this school year, and complete an application that consists of teacher and community member recommendations. Applications are available in the main office. These will be due November 14th for 7th and 8th graders. 6th graders can apply in the Spring after GPA has been established. These applications will be due April 24th, 2015. Interested students should start earning their community service hours now! Service record sheets are available on the Chinook Website and in the office.
If you have any questions about the obligations of being a NJHS member or about the application process, please attend the informational meeting or see one of the advisors.

Multi-Language Principal Coffee Meeting, Tuesday, September 23, 9-10:30am, Chinook Library
The Chinook Middle School staff recognizes that we have many families that come from different backgrounds. Some families may not be familiar with the American school system or speak English fluently.
In an effort to help more of our families, Chinook Middle School offers multi-language Principal coffee meetings. These meetings are well attended and include topics such as how to prepare for the rigor of AP classes, meeting school staff that work with your students (counselors, vice principals, etc.), preparing for the Common Core, developing student leadership skills and more. Parents are able to meet other parents with similar languages and cultures.
Principal Anderson invites you to join us, meet other parents, and learn important information about middle school. Interpreters for Korean, Mandarin-Chinese, and Japanese will be available.
**NOTE NEW DATE FOR MEETING IS SEPTEMBER 23rd**
